Why this trip is worth a day

The Blue Lagoon around Krknjasi, between the Drvenik islands, is a popular clear-water objective, especially from Trogir or western marinas. Pair it with a village or a second sheltered bay rather than adding distant Hvar simply because both appear in excursion advertising. From central Split the route takes longer, while from Trogir it can be an efficient half or full day. Earlier arrival generally improves the experience before tour traffic builds.

   Krknjasi Blue Lagoon

   Krknjasi is the colour stop: shallow blue water framed by the Drvenik islands. Arrive early, swim from the boat and enjoy the lagoon before making the day about somewhere quieter.

   Drvenik or Solta

   Continue to a village or sheltered bay on Drvenik or Solta for lunch and a slower second swim. This adds texture to the trip beyond the famous lagoon photograph.

   Trogir waterfront if the departure allows

   If the departure makes it practical, finish with Trogir's UNESCO-listed old town rising behind its waterfront. A short shore visit or a cruise past the historic centre gives the day a cultural final chapter.
