Why this trip is worth a day

Vis and Bisevo sit well beyond the easy Split day-trip zone. The Blue Cave is tide, light and queue dependent, and a long open-water run is required in both directions. A capable fast boat, early start and stable forecast are essential. The experience can be excellent when paired with Komiza or a Vis swim stop, but it should not be sold as a relaxed default. If conditions close the cave or make the crossing uncomfortable, accept the captain's alternative island route.

   Bisevo Blue Cave if operating

   When the cave is open, transfer into the authorised small boat and enter Bisevo's famous chamber as sunlight turns the water an intense blue. It is a brief but extraordinary natural spectacle.

   Komiza or Vis

   Give the long journey a proper island destination in Komiza or Vis Town. Both offer stone waterfronts, cafes and a sense of reaching the outer islands rather than simply ticking off the cave.

   A protected swim stop

   Balance the transit with a sheltered Vis-area cove where the group can swim, snorkel and relax. After the early start, this unhurried water time is what makes the ambitious day feel complete.
