The experience
Solta is one of the most practical full-day choices from Split. Maslinica brings a handsome harbour and village atmosphere, Sesula is a deeply cut bay suited to lunch or shelter, and Necujam offers broad water and swimming on the island's north side. The route gives a genuine island-hopping feel without forcing the speed and distance of Vis. It can suit motorboats, RIBs, sailing boats and catamarans, with the sequence adapted to wind and the departure point.
Use these as the shape of the day, with enough time at each stop to swim, relax and enjoy being there.
Arrive in Maslinica from the sea for a classic Dalmatian harbour view of stone houses, small boats and the islets beyond. Step ashore for coffee or enjoy the village from the boat before the first swim.
Sesula Bay cuts deeply into Solta's west coast and feels made for a long lunch. Moor near the sheltered shoreline, swim between courses and let this become the slow centre of the day.
Choose Necujam for a broad bay and generous swimming space or Stomorska for another attractive harbour village. Either gives the return leg a final dose of island life without rushing.
