Why this trip is worth a day

Heading east from Cannes brings the villas, wooded shoreline and small beaches of Cap d'Antibes. The west and south of the cape include rocky coves and clear-water snorkelling areas, while Juan-les-Pins and Antibes offer a more urban contrast. This is a good second-time Cannes route or an alternative when the Esterel is less sheltered. A local captain can balance scenic cruising with a swim away from the busiest beach frontage.

   Cap d'Antibes

   Follow Cap d'Antibes beneath grand villas, wooded grounds and rocky headlands. The changing shoreline is classic Riviera cruising and especially impressive from a low viewpoint on the water.

   A Garoupe or west-coast cove

   Drop into a clear cove around La Garoupe or the cape's western side for the main swim. The rocky edges reward a snorkel, while the boat provides the shade and privacy missing from the small beaches.

   Juan-les-Pins or Antibes view

   Finish with the lively curve of Juan-les-Pins or a view toward Antibes' old walls and port. The urban waterfront creates a stylish contrast to the natural coves around the cape.
