Local route guide
The experience
A capable motor yacht can continue beyond Antibes toward Nice and the deep natural bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer. The appeal is the changing Riviera panorama and the arrival into a distinctly different bay, but the return distance is significant. This is not the right plan for a small local rental. Choose it when the boat, captain, fuel budget and group all support a full day under way, with one meaningful destination rather than several rushed ports.
Use these as the shape of the day, with enough time at each stop to swim, relax and enjoy being there.
Use Cap d'Antibes as the first great scenic marker, cruising beneath its villas and wooded shore before the route opens toward Nice.
Watch the Riviera turn urban along Nice's long waterfront, with the city and foothills layered behind the blue curve of the Baie des Anges.
Arrive in Villefranche-sur-Mer's deep natural bay, where colourful buildings rise behind remarkably sheltered water. Make this the destination for lunch and a long swim rather than a hurried photo stop.
