Local route guide
The experience
Dragonisi lies off the southeast of Mykonos and is known for its rocky form, caves and clear water. It can combine with Kalafatis, Lia or another southeast beach on a settled day. The islet is exposed, and cave approaches require a captain's judgement; this is not a route to force in strong wind or swell. For repeat visitors who have already seen Delos and the main south beaches, it offers a different, more geological charter.
Use these as the shape of the day, with enough time at each stop to swim, relax and enjoy being there.
Start along Mykonos' southeast at Kalafatis or Lia, using the beach coastline for the first swim and a relaxed introduction before heading offshore.
Circle the rocky outline of Dragonisi to see its arches, caves and sculpted stone from the water. The island's geology makes this one of Mykonos' most unusual boat views.
Return to a protected southeast cove for lunch and a longer swim. After Dragonisi's drama, the quiet anchorage gives everyone time to snorkel and settle back into the day.
