Why this trip is worth a day

The southern coast links many of Mykonos' best-known beaches in a geographically coherent line. From Ornos, a boat can pass Psarou and Platis Gialos, then continue toward Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Elia or Kalafatis according to time and shelter. The goal should not be to stop at all of them. Choose one lively beach, one quieter swim and enough time aboard to enjoy the coastline rather than repeating short anchor-and-leave calls.

Use these as the shape of the day, with enough time at each stop to swim, relax and enjoy being there.

1. 1

   Ornos or Psarou

   Begin in the polished southwest, leaving Ornos behind or pausing off Psarou to see Mykonos' yacht-and-beach-club side from the water.

2. 2

   Paraga or Super Paradise

   Choose Paraga for a compact, sociable bay or Super Paradise for a bigger dose of beach energy. This can be the lunch-and-music stop if the group wants atmosphere.

   Elia or Kalafatis on a full day

   On a full day, continue east toward the longer beaches of Elia or Kalafatis. The extra distance opens the coastline and creates room for a quieter final swim away from the busiest western bays.
